| Just a few centuries ago, English was spoken by just five to seven million people on one relatively small island. Today, there are more non-native than native users of English, and English has become the linguistic key used for opening borders. English has become a world language, spoken by at least 750 million people. |
 |
| It is currently the dominant or official language in over 60 countries. It is more widely spoken and written than any other language. It can, indeed, be said to be the first truly global language. |
According to estimates, about 350 million people use English in Asia. India is the third largest English-using country in the world, after the USA and the UK. Today, literature in English is recognized as part of the national literature, and English is also recognized in the over-all language policy of the nation.
In India English is used mainly by those whose native language is not English. It is a minority language, yet a language of national affairs. It is used in different domains — family, friendship, neighborhood, transactions, education, government and employment. The list can go on.
No wonder then, speaking in English is imperative today. Remember, it is not difficult to learn the same. There are innumerable examples of Indians who have had their basic education in Hindi and other vernacular languages, but later, with some training, have mastered the art of speaking fluent English. Trust us, it is possible. All you need to have is the will and the determination to learn the language. You must have heard the familiar saying: “Where there is a will, there is a way.” We will show you the way
